The New York State Conspicuous Service Cross was recently presented to Massapequa Park resident Arthur Krumm in recognition of this service during the Vietnam War.
Krumm served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, achieving the rank of Sergeant. In addition to the Conspicuous Service Cross, Mr. Krumm has also been awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with four bronze service stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
The Conspicuous Service Cross is offered by New York State to acknowledge recipients of various military honors or those who were prisoners of war, at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, directly participated in the D-day invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944, or have been declared MIA or killed in Action by the Department of Defense.
