Massapequa Park's annual Harvest Fair is set for Sunday, Oct. 1 at Brady Park from noon to 5 p.m.

The Harvest Fair, sponsored by the Village of Massapequa Park, has proven itself to be one of the most popular harvest fairs on Long Island, featuring high quality, unique handicrafts such as ceramics, wood crafts, stained glass, flowers, paintings, hand-painted clothing, holiday gift ware and much, much more.

Entertainment will be provided by Stuart Kershen's Shake Down Band and Blue Spruce Cloggers. Clowns and balloons will add to the festivities.

Admission to the fair is free. Refreshments will be offered by a variety of vendors, which will include hot dogs, sausage and peppers, Greek specialties, funnel cakes and much, much more.

Ride to and from the fair at no charge. A shuttle bus will make regular pickups throughout Municipal Parking Fields 1 and 2.

In other local news, the Village of Massapequa Park has joined with Nassau County and other municipalities to draft the Nassau County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan. The final draft plan has been submitted to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)for http://www.nassaucountyny.gov/agencies/OEM/hazmit/hazmitDP.html.
