The Massapequa girls' varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams were successful at the 27th annual Wantagh Invitational Volleyball Tournament on Sept. 8th and 9th.

The girls' varsity volleyball Chiefs led by Carol Ann Habeeb-Kiel, in her 19th year of coaching, assisted by Lindsey Hill, took second place. Captain/Senior Elissa DiSalvo and Junior Tara Annunziata were named All-Tournament Team.

Contributing to the success of the day, Captain/Senior Patty Caltabiano, Seniors Lauren Bedard and Danielle Cerar played well, along with Juniors Janine Aldridge, Colleen Chmura, Kelley Collins, Carolyn Furman, Kim Giaquinto, Katie Schnaars, and Alison Silk.

Sophomores Julie Bies and Briana Wallace played to win as well. The team is looking forward to the start of a successful season.

The junior varsity volleyball coached by Mary Anne Abiuso, is as follows: Captain/Sophomore Katey Foran with sophomores Renee Rogers, Dana Vosilla, Caitlin Waldron: freshman Katie Bryson, Michele Cassa, Kristen Howard, Sammi Iazzetta, Katie Newman, Kristen Silk, Jacqueline Tierney: and 8th grader, Samantha Berna played great to start their season.
