The following is a summary of actions taken by the Massapequa Board of Education at its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, Sept. 7.

The Board of Education received reports regarding:

* Board of Education goals for 2006-07 and an update of summer curriculum projects.

The Board of Education acted on a variety of new business, including:

* Authorized tuition reimbursements.

* Appointed community residents to serve on its Buildings and Grounds Committee and Budget/Finance Committee for the 2006-07 school year.

* Resolved that the Board of Education accept a donation of a portable scoreboard to be used by the soccer teams from the Massapequa Soccer Booster Club.

* Discussed proposed Policy 6540 - Defense and Indemnification of Board Members and Employees.

* Resolved that the Board approves the Geese Peace Partnership Agreement between the Town of Oyster Bay and the Massapequa School District in the form presented, for the period of January 1, 2006 up through and including December 31, 2006.
