The Massapequa Park Merchants Association held their annual Summer Street Festival Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 12 and 13.

More than 100 arts and crafts vendors from around the country and locally lined Park Boulevard's business district. The beautiful fall-like weather brought out crowds of shoppers searching for that special handcrafted item or a tasty food treat from one of the international food booths while being entertained by DJ music from a showmobile.

Children were able to take pony rides, carnival-type children rides, eat popcorn and cotton candy and enter an ice-cream eating contest, and everyone enjoyed watching the karate demonstrations.

Children also painted on plaster molds and had their faces painted. Members of the VFW Post 7763 handed out little American flags from their sidewalk booth in front of their Park Boulevard clubhouse.
