If you could flip back the pages of 1986 newspapers you would find that not only the New York Mets were making the headlines. The Historical Society of the Massapequas were planning to move and restore a 126-year-old Floyd-Jones servants' cottage and the local and daily newspapers were in full support of the project.

Unanimous Approval for Fiorenza House
Washington, DC - Senators Hillary Rodham Clinton and Charles Schumer welcomed the Senate's passage of legislation late last week which would designate the United States Postal Service facility located in Massapequa, as the "Postmaster Jerry Fiorenza Post Office." The bill now goes to the president for his signature.
