I am devoting my column this week to our very wonderful senior citizens.

Our businesses depend on our senior population. All of our merchants try to make shopping as easy as possible, as well as wheelchair accessible. I personally love spring and summertime because it is then that everybody comes out to take a walk and shop locally. My office is located right on Park Blvd. And I welcome anyone who gets a little tired walking around to come into see me, rest, have some candy or coffee and just chat. (I am located at Leff & Leff, attorneys, right next door to Arlo Drug Store.)

I urge everyone to shop in our beautiful village. It is convenient for most residents and we offer everything from a great supermarket, Village Farms IGA, to a full service drug store, Arlo, Astoria Bank, the Post Office and many of the stores that will cater to your needs.

Don't forget about our restaurants and takeout food stores, Veranda II, Thai Taste, Calhouns Sports Bar & Grill, Adams Rib, Mary's Pizza, Subway, Carvel, and Ray's Ices. There is something for everybody.
