The following is a summary of actions taken by the Massapequa Board of Education at its regularly scheduled meeting on January 26.

The board of education recognized:

* Nassau Region PTA board members from Massapequa Debbie Austin, Ann Marie Loibl and Gracemarie Rozea

In addition to acting on specific financial and personnel items, the board of education received reports regarding:

* Construction Update - 8 classroom addition for MHS Main Campus - the final phase of the 2004 bond project

* Guidance Update

Regarding new business the board of education

* Resolved that the board of education adopt Policies 2220 - Board Officers, and 2230 Appointed Board Officials, 8211 Access to Buildings & School Property, 5154.2 Student Participation in Cultural Arts/Vocational Programs and 5305.1 participation in Athletic Activities.

* The board took action under the SEQRA law regarding the environmental impact of a maintenance project.
