The Nassau Zone of the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance held their annual "Outstanding Physical Education Student Awards Dinner" at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury on December 19.

Massapequa High School seniors Shannon Skeggs and Patrick Lyons were honored along with students from 55 other Long Island high schools, as the best physical education students at MHS.

The district's physical education department selected these two fine students, who also exhibit the qualities of leadership and citizenship, both in and out of the gymnasium.
