The Probst family of Massapequa knows how to celebrate Christmas in style.

For the last few years, they have hosted a holiday light display at their home on 122 Atlantic Avenue, one of the largest and most beautiful light displays in the Village.

For their artfully displayed decorations, they were named third place winners for the last two years in the village contest, a competition which is held annually.

This year, to add to the festivities, the Probst family is collecting toys and household items, now through December 23, all of which will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island.

"It is because of the generosity of people like the Probsts that we are able to provide our families with an atmosphere of warmth, caring and support during the holidays and throughout the year," said Silvana LaFerlita-Gullo, executive director.

The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island is a home-away-from-home for families of seriously ill children undergoing medical treatment in area hospitals. The recent completion of a $5 million expansion project has enabled the House to more than double its size, accommodating additional families during a critical time in their lives.
