Many US servicemen and servicewomen will be spending this holiday season in Iraq and Afghanistan. You can help to brighten their spirits by sending them a letter, a card or donating needed items. The Knights of Columbus, Council #6911 has been operating a program entitled Adopt-A-Battalion. We are currently sponsoring approximately 2,000 military personnel who do not have available access to a PX facility. Items needed are travel-size toothpaste, solid deodorant, toothbrushes, alcohol-free moist wipes, foot powder, soap, snacks such as beef jerky, granola bars, candy, gum, cookies, Crystal Lite powdered drinks or Cup-O-Noodles. Other popular items in demand are pens, pencils, disposable razors, disposable cameras, global phone cards, batteries, flashlights, etc.

Donated items can be dropped off at the Council on Saturday mornings between 9 a.m. and noon. Donations to offset the price of shipping are also appreciated. Checks should be made payable to the Knights of Columbus, #6911, A.A.B. and sent to 2 Eastgate Road, Massapequa Park, NY 11762. For more information, call or visit KofC website http://www.kofc6911.net. Thank you for your support and have a wonderful holiday season.

Questions or additional information may be addressed to Charles Kavanaugh at 799-0293. Thank you for your time and consideration.
