At its most recent meeting, the Town of Oyster Bay board approved a Site Plan for a 17,000 sq. ft. Waldgreens, to be located on property in Massapequa at Broadway and Sunrise Highway.

Waldgreens has currently applied for a building permit, one that must be approved by the town's Plan Examiner. Otherwise, all of the other zoning code requirements has been met by the company, including setbacks and retail space.

Even though the property will total 17,000 sq. ft., the structure itself will occupy 13,300 sq. ft.

In addition, it will take some time for the Plan Examiner to get around to this particular site, given the number of cases that town personnel has in their docket.

"I can't even begin to tell you when those plans will be looked at," a town spokesman told The Massapequan Observer.
