Fairfield Student Council Off and Running
Massapequa's Fairfield Elementary School Student Council is off to another year dedicated to charitable causes. To date, the group has raised more than $1,300.00 to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina.

On Election Day, Most Incumbents Prevail
Democrat Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi was re-elected to his second four-year term, defeating Republican and Independence Party candidate Greg Peterson and Conservative Party candidate Robert Bruno. Suozzi, who also ran on the Working Families Party line, received 178,133 votes. Peterson received 114,115 votes and Bruno received 9,097 votes.

Cellan Receives Coaching Honor
Russ Cellan of Massapequa, the Freeport High School Head Football Coach who led the Red Devils to 131 victories in his more than 10 years with the team, was honored by the Urban League of Long Island as one of Long Island's five Most Outstanding High School Coaches.
