Get out your winter boots and mittens, the first snowfall of the season will hit Massapequa at 7 p.m. on Nov. 13 during the ninth annual Westfield Works Wonders.
Westfield Works Wonders is a holiday shopping event to raise money for local non-profit organizations. The evening will include exclusive discounts and promotions at over 100 retailers, complimentary refreshment and entertainment. This year's event will take place from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at Westfield Sunrise in Massapequa and Westfield South Shore in Bay Shore. The centers will strive to reach a fundraising goal of $70,000 to benefit Long Island schools, hospitals and non-profit organizations.
The evening will include the official arrival of Santa Claus and the very first snowfall of the season, inside the mall. New York Mets pitcher Jac Seo will sign autographs from 7 to 9 p.m. and Brad from Real World San Diego will sign autographs from 7 to 8 p.m. Other entertainment includes a performance by South Shore School of Dance, an appearance by Westfield's own Westie the kangaroo and sampling by local restaurants. WBAB's Brett Levine and WBLI's Big Randy will emcee the event.
