On the same day the brand new Field of Dreams held its grand opening, the Massapequa Chiefs won their second straight game, defeating East Meadow, 21-9.

With the win, the Chiefs improved their record to 2-1. Massapequa remains the top-seeded team in Conference I football.

Chris Hurst was the two-way star of the Chiefs latest win. Along with 176 yards rushing, Hurst scored three touchdowns, two of them on 30-yard dashes.

On defense, Hurst had eight tackles, two sacks, a fumble recovery, and a blocked point after attempt. Matt Crowley and Dan Bittner also played stellar defense to keep the East Meadow offense bottled up.

In their first two games, Massapequa lost a close one to Baldwin, 13-7, before rebounding with a 14-8 victory over Hempstead.
