Thousands Turn Out to Welcome Field of Dreams
The Field of Dreams, a handsome new addition to Massapequa was officially unveiled last Saturday. A pleasant spring day brought thousands of residents to the new park as young people enjoyed myriad activities and events to mark the occasion.

NMFD Parade, Open House October 30
The North Massapequa Fire Department (NMFD), in conjunction with participating local merchants and organizations, will be hosting its 31st Annual Children's Rag-A-Muffin Costume Parade on Sunday, Oct. 30. The parade will start at noon and there will be no rain date. All children who participate must be registered so they will be eligible for free prizes. The department will also be hosting its annual Fire Prevention Open House on Friday evening, Oct. 14.

Boating Courses Offered by Coast Guard Auxiliary
U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Huntington Flotilla 22-01 has announced that it will be offering its "Boating Skills and Seamanship," "Basic Coastal Navigation" and "New York State Young Boaters" courses beginning Monday, Oct. 17. All courses begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be held at Half Hollow Hills High School East located at 50 Vanderbilt Parkway in Dix Hills or the Huntington Yacht Club for the Basic Coastal Navigation Course.

Chiefs Win Second in a Row
