Friends of Massapequa Preserve will observe their 5th Anniversary by inviting representatives from the parks, police and departments to share with the local community information about their activities in the preserve, and to answer questions about issues of concern.

The Massapequa Coast Juniors' team won the New York State Championship on Sunday, July 31. They advanced to the Eastern Regional Tournament, which began on Friday, August 5 in Freehold, NJ. The Coast Juniors won two straight games in that tournament before eventually finishing in 4th place in the region.
