  • News: Young Inventor Wins Award

    Cassie Sadoff, a fifth-grader at Birch Lane School in Massapequa Park, was recently named a second-place regional winner in the 2005 Craftsman/NSTA Young Inventors Awards Program. About 8,500 students from across the country entered the competition, which annually invites children in grades two through eight to invent a new tool or re-think an existing one. FULL STORY

  • News: Armed Robbers Hold Up Massapequa Home

    Two men armed with handguns entered a Massapequa home through an open front window at 3:05 a.m. June 13. According to police, the robbers proceeded to the master bedroom, where they woke the owners of the house, a husband and wife, and locked them in the bathroom before escaping, direction unknown, with cash and jewelry.
