Plainedge Revote Scheduled for June 20
The Plainedge Board of Education recently approved a revote of the school budget to be held June 20. The proposal before the voters on that day will be the same comprehensive budget that was presented to the community in May.

Farmingdale BOE Decides on Budget Re-Vote on June 22
Community members came out on Wednesday, June 1, to the first regular Farmingdale Board of Education Meeting since the failed May 17 budget vote. It was decided at the meeting that the budget will be put up for a re-vote on June 22 using the same budget plan with the addition of 100 percent of the state aid.

Girls U-15 Travel Team to Hold Fall Season Tryouts
The Farmingdale Hurricanes Girls Travel Soccer team is wrapping up the spring 2005 season. The team won back-to-back division championships in the spring and fall 2004 seasons and moved up two divisions. The team was extremely competitive this spring season despite injuries and is looking forward to some summer tournaments and the fall 2005 season. We use a professional trainer two times per week.

Levittown Soccer Club U11 Girls Travel Team to Hold Tryouts
The Levittown United will be holding an open, competitive tryout at Pelini Park on Tuesday, June 14 at 5 p.m. and Wednesday, June 15 at 6 p.m. The Levittown United plays Division 1 soccer in the Long Island Junior Soccer League; is currently a NY State semifinalist, and is the Sportsmanship Champions of Division 1. The United are coached by Gary Babicz (USSF and NSCAA licensed) and professionally trained by Jaime Gonzalez of First Touch Soccer. This is a competitive, year-round team that requires a high commitment level that is seeking girls born Aug. 1, 1994. Open tryouts for the Levittown Killer B's and Levittown Phoenix U11 girls teams will also be held at the same times and place. Players are asked to bring a ball, shin guards, cleats and water bottle.
