Oyster Bay Town Councilman Angelo A. Delligatti announces to residents that the Town of Oyster Bay Indoor Baseball Skills Program is currently underway in Hicksville and North Massapequa.
"The Town of Oyster Bay Department of Parks' Baseball Skills Program for young baseball and softball players of all ages is designed to assist the athletes to develop balance, speed and strength," Delligatti said. "Best of all, this program is offered to all Town of Oyster Bay residents at no charge."
The councilman added that the program is divided into player's instructional sessions and mini-programs specializing on precise training drills and more. The program, which began on May 9, runs through June 24.
"Players and coaches instructional clinics are currently underway at the Woodland Avenue School Gymnasium in Hicksville," Delligatti said. "The clinics are being held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 20, Monday, May 23 and Friday, May 27. Clinics will be held at the Plainedge High School Gymnasium in North Massapequa from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 3, Monday, June 6, Friday, June 10 and Monday, June 24."
The councilman noted that all baseball enthusiasts are welcome to attend the sessions. "Participants will receive great instruction at the clinics by Rusty Torres, a former Major League baseball player and coordinator of youth services for the Town's Parks Department," Delligatti said.
