The Plainedge Union Free School District said that it will strengthen its internal controls and policies over district spending after a recent state comptroller's audit of two years of administrative expenses found significant weaknesses but no evidence of wrongdoing.

Christina DiMartino, a senior at Massapequa High School, was recently named the 2004 NSCAA/Adidas High School Girls National Player of the Year. She will be recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America at its All-America Luncheon Jan. 15. The luncheon will be held in conjunction with the annual NSCAA convention, which runs from Jan. 12-16 in Baltimore, MD.
