Massapequa Mother/Daughter Duo Makes Sweet Music Together
Massapequa resident Kathleen Dougherty, a hornist with Celebrations Brass, had a bright idea a little over seven years ago. Why not introduce her college-age daughter Kristine to the brass ensemble as a guest artist? Together they played a piece, Kathleen on French horn and Kristine on flute, and the audience went wild. At the end of the concert, someone suggested the mother daughter duo form a musical group of their own, and Momentum was born.

Columbus Lodge Journeys to Uniondale for Telecare Telethon
Once again the members of the Columbus Lodge #2143 will travel to the Uniondale studios of Telecare to take part in the annual Telecare Telethon. The telethon will broadcast live from 3-10 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15 and from noon- 10 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 16 on Cable's channel 29. The telethon will also be broadcast, in part, on WLNY/Channel 55 on Saturday from 5-7 p.m. and Sunday from 3-5 p.m.

Police Officer Maureen Roach of the Nassau County Police Activity League - Massapequa unit recently announced the Winter/Spring 2005 Program lineup and registration dates for boy's travel lacrosse, girl's travel lacrosse, track, karate and tennis instruction.
