Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) recently announced that he will be hosting a seminar in Massapequa Park Village Hall that will teach residents how to prepare in case of an emergency situation.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m., Sept. 14 at 151 Front Street in Massapequa Park. Members of the American Red Cross will conduct the seminar and will teach residents important safety tips such as preparing a disaster kit and developing a family communications plan.
"While no one likes to think about having to deal with a hurricane, a flood or a terrorist attack, we must make sure that people know how to prepare themselves in case disaster strikes," said Fuschillo. "The members of the American Red Cross do a phenomenal job of teaching individuals how to be prepared for an emergency situation and I urge all residents to take advantage of this important opportunity."
If you have any questions about the seminar, or would like more information about disaster preparedness, please call Fuschillo's office at 546-4100.
