Ken Garcia, a resident of Massapequa Park and a JV lacrosse coach at Farmingdale HS, was recently named the director of lacrosse for the LUHI summer camps. Garcia was a collegiate All-American, is currently a member of the Long Island Lizards of Major League Lacrosse and was recently honored to the Long Beach Wall of Fame in 2003. Assisting Coach Garcia will be Marcello Sandoval, the head coach at Wheatley HS. Coach Sandoval is a two time assistant coach for the LI Empire State Team which both times won gold. Sandoval is also a coach for the Long Island Pride.
Invited Staff, Steven Panarelli will be the featured Defenseman at the Camp. Panarelli is a recent Farmingdale Grad who has many credits to his name including: two-time high school All-American, under 19 world Team Gold Medalist and World Game Defensive MVP. Panarelli was also voted as Nassau County Defensive Player of the Year in 2003. He is now playing at Syracuse University. Tim Treubig will highlight the midfielders at the camp. Treubig graduated in 2002 and is currently playing at Hofstra University. Timmy Rogers will assist Coach Garcia with the attack. Rogers is currently playing at Sacred Heart University.
