The board of education has also passed an austerity budget which includes a reduction of $1,957,999. In the event the budget proposal is defeated at the re-vote, the austerity budget will become effective on July 1.
The austerity budget that is prepared would eliminate school sports for grades 6-12; a computer teacher, the Sprint teacher and six elementary teacher positions; student clubs for grades 6 - 12; 13 support staff positions; one administrative position and adult education programs. The austerity budget will also eliminate the restoration of the late bus.
