R.J. Lockhart's 'Off Broadway' Production a Success
R.J. Lockhart Elementary School students recently made their debut at 199 Pittsburgh Avenue, just "off Broadway" in their full-school production of A Tribute to Rodgers and Hammerstein. Two hundred and twenty-five students from grades 1 - 6 participated in this after-school club, attending rehearsals since the end of January to prepare for this moment and audiences gasped in wonderment. This production was a full, cooperative effort among teachers, students, administrators and parents. The entire Lockhart community worked as a team and produced an incredible show complete with sets, costumes and even a parent-teacher orchestra.

YES Community Counseling Center, Inc. of Massapequa Awarded Share of $500,000 By Nassau County
Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi, joined by Legislator Kevan Abrahams (D-Hempstead), Deputy Presiding Officer Roger Corbin (D-Westbury), Legislator David Mejias (D-North Massapequa), Legislator Diane Yatauro (D-Glen Cove) and George Siberon, executive director of the Nassau County Youth Board, recently announced that the Nassau County Youth Board will be awarding $500,000 in funds to local Youth Violence and Gang Prevention and Intervention agencies, including YES Community Counseling Center, Inc. of Massapequa.
