I recently had the opportunity to participate with the Unqua Elementary School in their Character Education Kick-Off Assembly. I was truly honored to join with them and administer the Anti-Bullying Pledge. It was extremely rewarding to witness firsthand the implementation of the SAFE Schools legislation that I helped to pass as an Assemblyman in Albany.

The energy and enthusiasm generated in the auditorium was inspiring. The administration, children, staff and volunteers should be commended for their commitment and dedication to their school. Ms. Karen Ames, principal of the Unqua Elementary School, should be commended for her leadership and guidance.

It was an exciting day with the Unqua community and it is always my pleasure to participate within the Massapequa School District.
