Family and Children's Association, the human service network for Long Island, honored Massapequa Park resident and longtime volunteer Sallie Moore at its 2003 Thanksgiving volunteer recognition luncheon. Moore volunteers with Family and Children's Ombudservice program which provides patient advocacy in nursing, adult, and assisted living homes. "Sallie believes in doing the impossible to better the lives of these residents," said Margaret Hromada, director of Family and Children's/Ombudservice program. "Her dedication and relentless drive has enriched lives, eased anxieties, allayed crises and brought hope where there had been little hope."

As a volunteer of the year, Moore is an individual who is fully immersed in the Ombudservice program. She is just one of more than 250 volunteers who works directly with clients assisting staff in all of Family and Children's programs.
