Two robbers held a 15-year-old girl and her aunt at gunpoint while they stole a strongbox from the family's Massapequa home. The burglary occurred Dec. 8 at 12:31 a.m.

Two black males in their teens knocked on the door of a house located on Ford Drive West, detectives said. When the 15-year-old daughter of the house answered the door, the males pushed their way into the house. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun.

The girl and her aunt were forced to lie down in a bedroom and were guarded by one male while the second went to another part of the house. A short time later, the second male returned and both of them fled from the house on foot. A strongbox was discovered missing from the house. The son, who is 20, was not in the home at the time.

The seventh squad is also continuing an investigation into a shooting that occurred in Massapequa Dec. 2 at 2:45 a.m.

According to detectives, approximately four shots were fired from a 12-gauge shotgun into an occupied detached garage on Clocks Blvd. A window was broken and the sheetrock wall sustained damage but there were no injuries to the two males who were present inside. The subject(s) fled in a large vehicle westbound on Major Rd. There is no further description of the subject(s) or vehicle. Three shells were recovered at the scene.

Detectives request anyone with information regarding either of these crimes to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
