Massapequa Park Senior Community Service Center was the site of the recent 3rd Annual Costume Party. Over 75 seniors were on hand, many of them arrayed in a variety of unique costumes.
"Haven't had this much fun since I was a kid," was a frequent comment among those present. First prize in this year's contest went to Antoinette Caruso of Farmingdale, second prize to Dolores Giugliano of South Farmingdale, third prize to Tina Montanaro of Bethpage, and fourth prize to Jill Casano of N. Massapequa.
The attendees were treated to a fabulous lunch and were entertained with music, song and dancing by the Belles and Beaus of Bellmore, a talented and much in-demand group of 25 performing seniors.
The non-sectarian center, located at Our Lady of Lourdes, is jointly sponsored by Catholic Charities and Nassau County, and provides over 200 seniors with daily nutritious lunches, a wide variety of interesting activities such as painting, sculpture, exercise, informative speakers and including some very spectacular day trips as well as daily transportation to and from the seniors' residences in Massapequa, Massapequa Park, Farmingdale, Plaindege, Bethpage and Plainview.
