Dr. Peter T. Jeanettes of Massapequa was recently named veterinarian at Six Flags Wild Safari, the largest drive-through safari outside of Africa.

Jeanettes will have full responsibility for the preventative animal care program and maintaining the health of the safari's 1,200 exotic residents living year-round at the 350-acre Jackson Township facility.

Jeanettes received his doctorate from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, St. Kitts, West Indies. He completed his medical training at Louisiana State University.

Jeanettes has worked at Mattituck-Laurel Veterinary Hospital and an animal shelter on Long Island for the past year. His prior experience includes the Sawtooth Equine Medical Center and the Baton Rouge Zoo.
