The 10th Annual Massapequa Kiwanis Foundation Kid's Day will be held Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Birch Lane School in Massapequa.
The event will feature free photo identification and fingerprinting kits for children and their parents provided by Commerce Bank and the Massapequa Kiwanis Foundation.
There will also be interactive exhibits and displays by the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Borders and Customs Patrol, the Guide Dog Foundation, Nassau County Police, Massapequa Fire Department, U.S. Post Office, the Explorers Club, the MTA/Long Island Railroad Police, and the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Science demonstrations will be sponsored by the Mad Scientists from the New York Hall of Science.
Dr. Bard Zamer will provide children's dental information, Dr. Lanie Altman and Dr. Fred Schmidt will provide spinal exams, Serenity Wealth Management will offer family financial advice, and Y.E.S. Community Counseling will provide family counseling information.
"Make and Take" floral arrangements will be provided courtesy of Bayview Florist and Montage.
There will be free refreshments and product samples from McDonald's, Intercounty Bakers, Radio Disney and the Massapequa Kiwanis Foundation.
There will be a raffle held for prizes including a new mountain bike, tickets to Disney on Ice, an autographed New York Islander's puck, passes to the Long Island Game Farm, and more.
Music and prizes will be provided by WALK 97.5 FM radio. "Free Stuff" from Park Eye Center, Century 21/Whitney Estates, Serenity Wealth Management, and Kumon Math and Learning Centers will be available.
