The Massapequa Coast 12-year-old team captured the District 31 Championship with a 2-0 win over Massapequa International. Coast defeated International for the second straight game. The Coast team was undefeated in the District tournament.

Winning pitcher Drew Bergman struck out 11 and completed his second shut out of the tournament. Greg Muller knocked in the winning run with a two out single that scored Sean Canning in the second inning. Mike Mauri added the insurance run with another big two out hit in the third.
