On June 6, at the New York State Convention of the Order Sons of Italy in America (OSIA), the Columbus Lodge members were present when Dan Colantone received the prestigious Dr. Vincenzo Sellaro Award for the year 2003.

Mayor James Altadonna and the board of trustees recently presented Lillian Bryson with a plaque acknowledging her years of dedicated service to the Zoning Board. Altadonna also swore in Robert G. Bruechert and Dan Yetman as Zoning Board members. Tennis Courts Restored
Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto and Councilman Joe Muscarella attended the dedication ceremony for Plainedge High School's new tennis courts. As a result of an Intermunicipal Agreement with the Town of Oyster Bay, the high school tennis courts were restored at no cost to the Plainedge School District. The district continues to have priority use of the courts for its tennis program, with community use reserved for after-school hours and weekends. Also present were board members Rich Mallow and Thomas Dick, tennis coach Adam Waterhouse, Board Vice President Ellen Ryder, Superintendent John Richman and Coach Robert Guzowski.
