The $119,404,121 Massapequa School District Budget passed by a margin of 1,221 votes. The Massapequa Library Budget Proposition also passed by over a thousand votes.

Voters elected first-time contender Thomas Caltabiano (2,784 votes) and incumbent Scott Brown (2,403 votes) to the school board, over incumbent Mark Feinstein (1,724 votes).

In the Plainedge School District, the $51,641,919 budget passed by a margin of 835 votes. The Plainedge Library Proposition also passed by a margin of 1,266 votes.

Six candidates were vying for four seats on the school board. Elected were Thomas Dick (1,943), Ralph Raymond (1,801 votes), Richard Mallow (1,832 votes) and Loretta Giardina (1,269 votes).

Plainedge residents voted against the district pursuing the investigation of a merger or consolidation with one or more neighboring school districts, putting the issue to rest.
