The Plainedge Wellness Council is sponsoring a Family Fun Walk May 17 at the Plainedge High School athletic field. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with the walk being held between 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. The walk is open to adults and children of all ages and parents are welcome to walk with pre-schoolers in strollers or wagons. Admission is free and refreshments will be provided. In the event of rain, the walk will be held indoors.
The Plainedge Wellness Council is an advisory group of district personnel, health and law enforcement professionals, parents and students who work to raise awareness of substance abuse issues and recommend programs that encourage positive behavior and good decision-making among Plainedge students. They are sponsoring the Family Walk to raise awareness of the importance of choosing to live a healthy lifestyle.
