The American Black Belt Academy, along with the Worldwide Kenpo Karate Association, will host The American Karate Championships 2003, March 8 and 9. The tournament will be held at Massapequa High School and is open to spectators of the community. Competitors from throughout the country will be showing their Karate expertise.

The tournament will begin 6 p.m. with team demonstrations, team sparring, breaking and self-defense divisions. Sunday the competition will resume at 10 a.m. with forms, weapons and sparring divisions.

Admission for this event is $5 for adults and $2 for children. Children under 5 will be admitted free.

In addition the American Black Belt Academy will be holding a food drive at the tournament for the outreach program at St. Rose. Families attending are being asked to bring a donation of non-perishable food that will be collected at the entrance door.
