At a recent meeting of the Massapequa Kiwanis Club, President Bill Van Wagner recognized Jay Eskin, the founder of the Eve Brown Foundation.

The Eve Brown Foundation, with Eskin as its chairperson, has formed an alliance with the Nassau County Coalition against Domestic Violence and with other volunteer groups in creating the Farmingdale Community Summit. These groups also sponsored a candlelight vigil and service in memory of those who perished in the World Trade Center tragedy.

As a result of their efforts, numerous survivors have received scholarships and computer training enabling them to complete their education and continue productive careers.

Volunteers like Eskin who have suffered a close family loss have devoted their lives to comforting others and to educating victims about where help can be obtained.

Anyone seeking or offering help to the Eve Brown Foundation can call 756-0335, write to the Foundation at PO Box 218, Farmingdale 11735, or log on to the Foundation's new website at www.evefoundation.com.
