Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) and Assemblyman Steven Labriola (12th Assembly District) recently announced their joint success in obtaining a $5,000 grant for the Kiwanis Club of Massapequa. According to Fuschillo, this money will be used to help defray operating costs so that the Kiwanis Club can better serve the less fortunate in the community through their outreach programs.
The Kiwanis Club of Massapequa has an extensive record of serving the needy in the community but also those less fortunate in the state, nation and throughout the world. Those helped by Massapequa Kiwanis include families of Sept. 11 victims, children in trauma and disabled citizens.
"Senator Fuschillo's and Assemblyman Labriola's efforts continue to help us accomplish our community outreach goals," said William Van Wagner, president. "It is with the utmost appreciation that I thank them on behalf of the Kiwanis Club of Massapequa."
"Massapequa Kiwanis has proven that they care a great deal for the community," said Fuschillo. "Their service to various parties in need is commendable. It is my pleasure to help ensure that their outreach programs continue."
"I am pleased to have partnered with Senator Fuschillo to assist the Kiwanis Club of Massapequa," said Labriola. "It is important to recognize the efforts of a group such as Kiwanis, which has done a great deal to help those in need to better help themselves."
