Town Wins Grant for 'Traffic Calming' Project in Massapequa
Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto recently announced that the town was awarded a New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) grant to develop a "traffic calming" project for a section of Broadway, between Sunrise Highway and Boundary Avenue, in Massapequa and North Massapequa respectively.

Unidentifiable Letters Cause Confusion in the Village
Some Massapequa Park Village residents have recently received letters concerning the village election that took place in March, 2002. These letters did not come from Village of Massapequa Park, and to date, the village has been unsuccessful in identifying the source of these letters.

Road Runners Host 22nd Annual Firecracker Run
The Massapequa Road Runners will host the 22nd Annual 5K Firecracker Run on Sunday, July 7, at 5 p.m. This run is open to runners of all ages and abilities. The racecourse is USATF certified and sanctioned, and is a flat, fast 3.1 mile loop through the Village of Massapequa Park. The race will start at the intersection of Park Boulevard and Clark Street and proceed north to Walker Street, where it will turn west and then head south along the preserve path. The race will finish on Lakeshore Drive at Brady Park.
