NYS Senate's 'Women of Distinction' Display Coming to Massapequa
Forty-two historic New York women, from Susan B. Anthony to Lucille Ball, to "Grandma Moses" Robinson, and including Massapequa Park's own 2002 Woman of Distinction honoree Nancy Bernheim, Esq., will be featured in the New York State Senate's 'Women of Distinction' Display at the Massapequa Library at Harbor Lane June 17 through 24.

Plainedge Budget Re-Vote June 25
The Plainedge School District will hold a re-vote on the budget June 25, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Plainedge High School gymnasium. The budget, with an increase of 4.1 percent, is the exact same budget that failed in May.

Road Runners Host 22nd Annual Firecracker Run
The Massapequa Road Runners will host the 22nd Annual 5K Firecracker Run on Sunday, July 7, at 5 p.m. This run is open to runners of all ages and abilities. The racecourse is USATF certified and sanctioned, and is a flat, fast 3.1 mile loop through the Village of Massapequa Park. The race will start at the intersection of Park Boulevard and Clark Street and proceed north to Walker Street, where it will turn west and then head south along the preserve path. The race will finish on Lakeshore Drive at Brady Park.
