What parent doesn't wish his or her child was a just a little more excited about reading? To answer this concern, reading motivation expert Nancy Newman will speak on "Raising Passionate Readers and Learners" at a parent seminar March 4, sponsored by the Plainedge Council of PTAs.

Karate Tournament to Be Held in Massapequa
The American Black Belt Academy along with the Worldwide Kenpo Karate Association will host The American Karate Championships 2002, March 2 and 3. The tournament will be held at Massapequa High School and is open to spectators of the community. Competitors from throughout the country will be there showing their Karate expertise.
