Friends of the Massapequa Preserve gathered with a total of 22 volunteers for their cleanup project on Dec. 1 at the Massapequa Preserve on Walker St. They collected seven large trash bags of litter and one old bicycle in the woods and fields around Walker St. Many hands made for light work, as they finished their task in just under an hour. The organization hopes this project will encourage others to catch the spirit and not litter in the Preserve.
