Jessica Powers was one of eight female student-athletes that represented Nassau County at the Women's Sports Foundation Annual Awards Dinner at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, Oct. 15. Powers was selected for this honor for the athletic contributions that she has made to Massapequa High School and for her qualities of academic excellence, leadership, and community service.

The New York State Public High School Athletic Association spoke of her achievements in a written statement by saying "we are very proud of Jessica's participation and are pleased that she will represent our county's athletic association, your school, and her family." Massapequa Public Schools also echoes those sentiments and congratulate Powers on her recognition.
