Several community groups in the Massapequas, including the Chamber of Commerce of the Massapequas, the Massapequa Kiwanis, and YES Community Counseling Center, have recently stepped forward to lend their support to families affected by the World Trade Center tragedy.
Schools Respond to WTC Disaster
The response to the Sept. 11 tragedy from students, staff, parents and other community members in the Massapequa and Plainedge School Districts was immediate and generous. What can we do to help, they wanted to know. How can we provide support and contribute to relief efforts? Students, faculty, advisors and PTA leaders immediately went to work.
Local Kickboxers to Perform Benefit Jets Half-time Show
The American Black Belt Academy of Massapequa will bring its Kickboxing Demo Team to the Meadowlands Stadium to perform a spectacular half-time show when the New York Jets take on the Miami Dolphins. This is the eighth annual "Jammin' with the Jets" half-time show to benefit the American Lung Association. Last year, over 400 participants performed an aerobic kickboxing routine in front of thousands of football fans and raised over $100,000 for the American Lung Association.
Sports Radio Network Debuts High School Football Coverage
Sports Radio Network (WSRN) will be adding the High School Football Game of the Week to its fall schedule. The upcoming schedule will feature teams from the Section VII in Nassau County.
