  • NEWS: Free Flu Shots for Seniors at Massapequa Library

    There will be flu and pneumonia shots available to seniors Oct. 18 at the Bar Harbour Building of the Massapequa Public Library for no out of pocket cost. Those who wish to get a shot must be age 60 or over, a resident of school district 23, and pre-registered. Registration will begin Sept. 12 and 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at both the Central Ave. and Bar Harbour Buildings. Registration will then be ongoing at the Central Avenue Building from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. until all 600 spots have been filled. Be sure to reserve early! FULL STORY

  • SPORTS: Massapequa Little League Declared Official NYS Champs

    The Massapequa International Little League was recently declared the New York State champion after the Rolando Paulino All-Stars forfeited all its games this summer for using 14-year-old Danny Almonte, said Bob Stainkamp, manager of the Massapequa team. FULL STORY
