Paddling for a Cause
The Massapequa Fire Department will host their 7th Annual Emergency Services Canoe Challenge Aug. 11. The race consists of a two-mile course to the Great South Bay, beginning and ending in John Burns Park in Massapequa. Those with the courage to compete with some of the bravest will receive a complimentary race day T-shirt and free refreshments after the race.

SEA Bond Recommendations Approved for Massapequa Properties
The Oyster Bay Town Board voted unanimously at its July 31 meeting to adopt the first round of recommendations by the SEA Bond Committee for the expenditure of $20 million in Environmental Bond Funds for the acquisition of interests or rights in real property for the preservation of open space for active and passive parks and recreational uses.
