The Massapequa Park Bicycle Club recently signed on as a supporter of the 10th Annual Salomon Smith Barney Nick Katsounis Memorial 10 Kilometer Wheelchair Championship Race, to be held on the roads of Farmingdale June 24. The Bicycle Club will provide several dozen volunteers to help out at the event, as well as supplying some much needed financial support.

"The Massapequa Park Bicycle Club has been part of this event for many years," said Paralympic athlete Jeanie Waters, who represented the Race at the June 4 meeting of the Bicycle Club, held in Massapequa Park's Village Hall. "We are really thankful for their continued help in making the Wheelchair Championship one of the nation's most important venues for wheelchair athletes."

The race will once again be conducted under the joint auspices of the Town of Oyster Bay and the Greater Long Island Running Club. For more information call Race Director Geraldine Walsh at 349-7646.
