N. Massapequa Firefighter Rises to Highest Rank in Nassau County
When Frank Nocerino became a volunteer firefighter with the North Massapequa Fire Department at age 18, it was the fulfillment of one of his childhood dreams. Now, 30 years later, he has risen to heights he hadn't even imagined he could achieve.

No Rain on This Parade
Overcast skies couldn't keep residents of the Massapequas from attending the Memorial Day Parade and Service, which began at approximately 10:30 a.m. May 28. Young and old alike lined the streets to pay tribute to those who made the supreme sacrifice in defense of our nation, and to welcome New York State Governor George Pataki, who marched in the parade, to Massapequa Park.

Columbus Lodge Golden Lions Take Bite Out of Bulldogs
Webster's dictionary describes "resilient" as an ability to recover from or adjust from easily to misfortune or change. After starting the season off slowly, the resilient Columbus Lodge #2143 softball team (the Golden Lions) swept a double header from the Bellmore Bulldogs at Mitchell Field in Uniondale and extended their winning streak to three straight.
