Over 200 runners joined the Greater Long Island Running Club (GLIRC) on March 11 for the fourth annual 3x2 Mile Trail Relay hosted by the club and its men's racing team. Everyone was treated to a great cross country course, dozens of prizes, T-shirts courtesy of Relay Sponsor Super Runners Shop, a special post-race buffet, (the GLIRC Field Kitchen,) courtesy of Whitson's Foods and GLIRC's own head chef Bill Whitcomb, with assistance from chef Bill Meisner). Best of all, the event was free.

The key issue of the morning was very much not who won or didn't win. "Make-up" teams were the rule, and the club was pleased to attract so many people who just ran for the fun of it, as well as the superstar high school teams "The Nerds," who scored first overall through the muddy and snowy trails.

The club thanks all who participated and the Bethpage State Park for allowing them to put the grounds to such positive use.
